Ah, the overwrite. Drives me nuts when I hit it by accident in
emacs, but I do use it often there. So I, who don't know that much
about the understructure, just wondered if there is some easy way to
detect that it's been hit. All the applications know, so it is surely
possible. Then. like emacs but more in your face, would it help to
light up something in the status bar that blinks and announces the
situation? Would this help? I think it would help me, because I am a
pretty clumsy typist.
