yes, no problem whatsoever in general, and the word97-testdoc loads OK,
as do some word97-files I got via email.

well, if I try (on SuSE) a dynamic binary which was build on Redhat 5.2,
it complains about libstdc++.so.2.8 IIRC.
I'll double-check that error too.
