Thanks for posting a solution. I've been using the AbiWord 2.6.8
packages from Karmic, pinning them during upgrades, to avoid this
problem. It will be nice to have a recent version of AbiWord that is
actually usable.
Do you know if there are any side effects in Wine when removing the
ttf-symbol-replacement package? Have you posted a bug to the abiword
or wine bugzillas for this issue?
