AbiWord 2.7.10 doesn't double-space

I am working with AbiWord 2.7.10 on Linux and when I select a
paragraph and go to Format--> Paragraph--> Line Spacing--> change to
'double', it does not change the line spacing to double. It does,
however, change the formatting from left-align to right-align (even
though I didn't change that field).
