Vert Alignment of text in table cells

Using AbiWord 2.8.0 on Win XP Pro SP-3

1) Is there a way to VERTICALLY center text in a table cell? If so,
where can I find it?

2) Is there a way to display an icon in a toolbar to toggle "Show
Formating Marks"?
