Hi,
AbiWord 2.6 and earlier use a separate library called "GNOME Print" to
generate PDF. There's no way to set the compression. The development
series, AbiWord 2.7, uses Cairo to generate PDF. Cairo generates
compressed PDF.
You have a few options:
* Generate PS instead, and then use ps2pdf on the command line
* Use another tool, like ghostscript's pdfopt, to compress the PDF
* If you like to live dangerously, check out AbiWord 2.7 from our
SubVersion repository
Best,
Dom
