I have AbiWord v2.2.8 running under Linux. I wish to change the spell
checker dictionary to British English. I downloaded the british.hash
file from sourceforge as stated in the docs and placed that in /usr/
X11R6/share/AbiSuite-2.2/dictionary and then went to Tools, Set
Language, changed appropriately. On the status bar I have en-GB
showing but it does not pick up the correct dictionary as I still get
American spelling.
In the FAQ it states that " Your AbiWord distribution contains a file
called american.hash. This is a dictionary of (American) English words.
By adding the hash file (and its associated encoding file) for your
language of choice to the same directory as this (american.hash)
dictionary...".
This is INCORRECT. There is NO american.hash file
anywhere on my system so where does AbiWord get its dictionary from?
