amharic

dear sir,
It seems not possible to write in amharic with the new version of Mandrake
Linux, the 10.1. One can't install the fonts and the locale file for amharic,
but even some menus are now in amharic, the font cannot be used with Abiword
even though the menus of Abiword (last version) are in amharic.
Please help asap,
