If you really want to run AbiWord remotely, do yourself a favor and
install 1.99.6 (aka 2.0 beta). If you really can't, install it on your
local machine (the one that host the X11 server).
The problem is that 1.0.x font management is ugly, and you have to make
sure that the fonts that gets loaded by the wrapper script are available
to the server.
