    I also had great difficulty understanding what you meant but i am
    confident i got the gist of it.

    He seems to have a folder where he keeps all his letters (correspondance
    even). [Nothing to do with the courier font, which is what i thought the
    first time i skim read the mail]

    What i think is bothering him is that Abiword is not very good about
    rememberin that last directory you used. For example the file open dialog
    might be more useful if it reopened in the last reused directory.
    Similarly the clipart dialog is way more useful if it when it opens it
    starts off in the right directory.

    Perhaps Abiword should give Gnome the kick in the arse it deserves and
    automatically create a folder ~/Documents/
    This should help keep people get organised, and give a sensible default
    directory for keep abiword documents in.
