    To test the theory that it might have something to do with your
    abiword.profile you should (re)move it and see what happens.

    If you were using Microsoft Windows i might have suggested that the
    properties of your shortcut (aka launcher) pointing to abiword had been
    changed to start the application minimised

    Maybe with more information about your setup we will be able to figure it
    out. In the meantime if you look at http://bugzilla.abisource.com you
    might be able to see if anyone else has encountered a similar problem.

    really? which linux distribution includes Doom? I know Doom was opened
    sourced and i have tried a few linux distributions but i never noticed one
    that included Doom.
