    It exists. Fear not. Try ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gal2-0/0.0
    (maybe) - or just build w/o GNOME.

    Xft - why not wait for Mandrake 9.1? That should have a working Xft2.

    Also, try CVS HEAD AbiWord. It crashes a lot, but when it works it works
    well. Remember of course that this is a development series...
