I at last succeded in compiling abiword (Thank you Frank) and I now need instructions on how to circumvent the problem that it cannot find an existing library:
[hca@localhost hca]$ abiword
abiword: error while loading shared libraries: libfribidi.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[hca@localhost hca]$ locate libfribidi.so.0
/usr/local/lib/libfribidi.so.0.0.0
/usr/local/lib/libfribidi.so.0
/home/hca/fribidi-0.10.4/.libs/libfribidi.so.0.0.0
/home/hca/fribidi-0.10.4/.libs/libfribidi.so.0
[hca@localhost hca]$ ls -l /usr/local/lib/libfribidi.so.0 /home/hca/fribidi-0.10.4/.libs/libfribidi.so.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 maj 15 13:25 /home/hca/fribidi-0.10.4/.libs/libfribidi.so.0 -> libfribidi.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 maj 15 13:26 /usr/local/lib/libfribidi.so.0 -> libfribidi.so.0.0.0
[hca@localhost hca]$
I believe that abiword will be a VERY fine program, but I still need evidence.
Venlig hilsen / Best regards
Hans Christian
