Hi Erik,
AbiWord can import SVGs if you have the RSVG plugin
(Unix only) or the ImageMagick plugin (Unix or Win32).
If you use the RSVG plugin (which supports a larger
portion of the SVG standard than ImageMagick does), I
highly recommend that you upgrade to the development
series of AbiWord and use LibRSVG 2.3.0, as many
substantial improvements have been made to both, and
both require GTK 2.0 or better.
The CVS/development versions of AbiWord and RSVG
should technically be considered "unstable." In
practice, RSVG 2.3 is more stable and featureful than
any prior release. AbiWord CVS is by far more
featureful than 1.0.5, but at the cost of temporary
instability until we get a polished 2.0 product out
the door.
