If you have an rpmbased distribution ike Redhat, Mandrake or Suse, you
probably need a package like gtk+-devel, gtk+1.2-devel or libgtk+-devel. If
you use Debian it's probably named libgtk+-dev or libgtk+1.2-dev.
This will enable you to compile the Gtk version of Abiword, not the
Gnome-version, which is broken with 1.0.5 anyway.
It might be easier however to get a precompiled package of Abiword, or wait
maybe a week (blind guess) for 1.0.6.
