Subject: Abiword segfault when run under non-root account

The particulars -
Stock Suse8.0 distribution
Abiword tgz 1.0.1 compiled using 'diving make'
gtk, no gnome
The Results -
It runs from the root account. Yay!
It segfaults if run from a user account. :-(
(Just after the splash screen)
Not the Obvious?
The first thing I thought of was a permissions problem,
but I looked as best I could and didn't see anything
wrong there. I haven't any experience with permissions
causing segfaults, either, so I don't think that's it.
I had somthing similar happen with the RPM from user-local-bin,
too, which is why I tried compiling from source.
I'm stumped.
Anyone seen this behavior or have any ideas?
