    Damon,

    Did you do a "make install" in the abiword/abi directory (as root)? The
    first make can be done as a normal user (as with ./autogen.sh && ./configure).

    The "make install" as root should install the binaries and associated files
    within /usr/local, assuming you did not change any configuration defaults.

    Note that the plugins require a separate compile and install, and since all
    are not yet operational (this is an ongoing project, mind you), at least on
    my system require some tweaking for success.
