Just a quick "Thank You" to those who helped with comments about my "print
preview" question.
Strange, yesterday AbiWord wouldn't display the landscape layout on screen;
today it does!
Possibly I messed up the running copy I was using to test, as I had been
trying all sorts of combinations of AbiWord features and settings to see
what would happen (I'm hoping to use it for elderly students, and want to
find out all the traps or confusions I can).
Seems the closest quick way of getting an equivalent to print preview then,
is to click the zoom box and select "page", although this gives a fairly
small picture of the final result.
I think I will file a request for enhancement in bugzilla, as a "print
preview" similar to Word would be more convenient and provide a larger
picture of the result (ie most of the real estate at the top of the screen
would be available to view instead of being used by the toolbars). Also a
single "print preview" toolbar button would be much more convenient than
having to change the zoom setting twice.

Another "ignorant" question, but here goes:-
When I try to access the "Help" funtion fromn the menu bar in AbiWord 0.9.2,
there's nothing there.
I found some help documents in c:\program files\Abisuite\Abiword\help and
discovered that I could read them in Internet Explorer. Also found a file
in that folder called comindex.html which looks like a kind of index\task
launcher maybe used by the help system?
Is there some simple way of activating the help system from the menu bar, or
is this a planned future enhancement?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers, John Selby.
