Printing Icon Behavior

Hi all,

There is one feature that to me, just *does not* work.

As documented ( http://www.abisource.com/help/en-US/print.html ), if I click the
print icon, the entire document prints (except the first time for me, when it is
looking for printer information). It is rare I want to print an entire
document, and if so, usually only the first time to get a good clean copy to
edit by hand. Then I make corrections, and print out the pages that were
changed. When I think I'm done, then I print out an entirely new copy, but
then, given the nature of editing, often change a few typos, wordings, etc, and
then just print replacements.

Am I an oddball in this? I do admit that this is apparently the way #$#WORD@$%
operates, the few times I have been forced to use it, however, I always found
the behavior rather obnoxious. I really hate to complain since I use AbiWord on
3 different platforms, but I've noticed no other mention of this and would hate
to see a poorly designed action totally locked in with a new release coming out.

The print icon is so appealing :-)

More than once I have found myself clicking it rather than going to the
scolldown print menu and zapping out 30-50 pages when all I really wanted was
3-5 pages. :-(

Perhaps to please all people, the behavior of the icon could be made a
preference, default to print all pages (to please ex-WORD junkies), otherwise
always bring up print menu (to please me:-)

(oh, I do read this list, so if anyone is so inclined to comment, I don't really
need or want a cc).
