Since my original post, I've played with this some more and searched all
over the website for a working version for RH 6.2. First off, these
dependencies were recognized earlier. There's a couple of postings in the
developer's forum from December which mention the fact that 0.7.12 has some
"bleeding edge" dependencies but not to worry about it because Helix Gnome
will release a package soon, or words to that effect.
Also, I found a version labeled 'abisuite-0.7.12-1.i386.rpm and tried that
one. I got the same two failed dependencies listed above, but using the
graphical gnorpm, ignored them and installed anyway. Abiword is working so
far on my RH 6.2 box. For clues to all this, check out the developer's
forum archives at abisource.com. I'm sure something will crash soon, but so
far it hasn't, despite the error messages during install.
Cheers,
Drew
