i added another source tree "abidistfiles" which is
a peer to "abi" and "expat" and .... this will have
large and seldom changed files (like the dictionaries).
they are in a separate tree to help keep tarballs
small(er).
i did some other housekeeping on the makefiles
so they should build a little faster and with less
polution thoughout the tree.
i fixed the problems building on Win32 on disks
other than the C: disk (getting bash's //d/abi/...
pathnames and M$'s LIB d:\abi\... commands to play
nicely together...) sigh.
questions/problems/flames to me,
