AbiWord localization help needed

Dear AbiWord community,

I am writing to ask for your help in recruiting additional localizers
to translate AbiWord.

We already have 96 languages (and variants) set up on the Pootle
database, with 66 or so greater than 80% complete (for 2.9). Compare
that to OO's 15 lang-packs.

Additional languages are easy to add and among the FOSS word
processing tools that I know of, AbiWord has the lowest number of
strings, which makes it a great starting point for new language L10n
teams.

I would particularly like to request assistance in the more common
European languages (French, Italian, etc.) as they represent large
potential user populations that could be reached and their
expectations are generally high for L10n completeness and quality.

In particular, French is an important bridging language to indigenous
languages in Francophone Africa and also an important
language-of-instruction in places like Haiti. Can someone please help
me find an AbiWord-loving Francophone?

I consider everyone in the AbiWord community a potential localizer or
recruiter of localizers and I hope you will help AbiWord become the
word processor of choice for people looking for a native language
tool.

TIA for your help, and a special thanks to those localizers who have
brought their languages to 100% already.
