Hi,
Marco, thanks for spending some of your time on us and trying to put
parties in touch even if it might be a long way to go.
Erik has been doing some awesome work and he's really pushing for
making this a successful project. However, I am not sure whether at
this point in time it makes a lot of sense to spend so much time
getting the sugar environment up and running if that's still a moving
target.
I for one would (for now) be satisfied with a pygtk prototype (maybe
based on GtkTextView) that allowed to implement and test basic
functionality. AbiWord is really not suited for rapid prototyping, it
wouldn't make sense to burn time iterating test cases on top of it
when comparable results can be achieved faster and easier. (This is
not meant to question Erik's C++ skills at all)
Hoping for my part is to soon reach the stage where ideas are turned
into somewhat structured feature specifications and start working on
prototypes.
Best,
Rob
