Hi Pascal,
I am definitely interested in working with you and your group.
We're doing things by the seats of our pants now.
Could you send me the java code?
How could we set up a collaboration?
In the past I've found it difficult to get past the learning curve of
understanding complex software. If you have the same trouble maybe we'll
need to help each other. I've found that real-time chats on IRC really
speed things up. I'll be around our IRC server tonight (my time) and
early tomorrow your time.
We generally can be be found on the gimpnet server on channel #abiword
Marc Maurer (uwog) who is also very interested in this is in your time
zone.
Mark Gilbert, who is working on a related Summer of Code project is in
North America.
If you want to see what we're doing, the abicollab code consists of a
plugin to the .
To build abiword and the abicollab plugin you need cvs abiword and cvs
abiword-plugins plus cvs wv plus the loudmouth library.
To get it all to work:
1. Build loudmouth.
2. Build Abiword from CVS HEAD
3. Build the abicollab plugin (in the abiword-plugins module)
You can get all this from our cvs server.
Details for how to connect are here:
http://www.abisource.com/developers/download.phtml
The loudmouth library is available from both the Fedora Core Extras
repository. I believe there are debian and Ubuntu packages as well.
