why not? i dont understand.
so long as you put <br /> rather than <br/> it should be perfectly back
compatible, the / should be ignored as some sort of unknown parameter, by
even the most half assed html importer.

Are there any non comsmetic reasons for doing this?

on another matter entirely
is there some way i can bribe/encourage you or someone else to work on the
HTML importer so that it can import HTML as produced by Netscape6.x/Mozilla1.x?

i filed an RFE to that effect somewhere, and id really like to have it in
by v1.0
